All of the politicians are talking about how bad things will be is the other parties are elected, except for the Green party, which the others don't consider worth attacking because their chance of winning is so low. The horns may represent how bad each leader is: the more horns the leader's monster has, the worse the leader is.

The cartoon is basically saying that the promises made by all of the party leaders are ridiculous and unattainable. Additionally, they have no idea about the specifics of what they are promising(scientists just announced the discovery) . The empty space around the planet represents how empty the leaders' promises are.

This cartoon was probably made early in the campaign, since Mulcair is ahead of Trudeau, who has thrown up. The scandal involving Senator Duffy is shown as slowing down Harper, and the chains mean that it will be difficult for Harper to distance himself from the issue. Now that the election is over, I don't think that was what lost them the race. Near the end, there was little mention of any of the senators.

As the cartoon above suggested, this election campaign really was a marathon. In any campaign, people will get tired of all the attack ads. Since this campaign was especially long, we were even more desperate for it to be over. The cartoon also suggests that attack ads don't work for most voters, and that they all look the same.
